rewriting press releases ...

Jed, glad you are in! I had a blast in Missoula. Hope you and Jen are well.

Give me a few days so that I can find something good to post. I am catching up to work in the newsroom ridiculously short-staffed. And I do rewrite press releases to fill the paper...

Anyway, more to come soon. I have a copy of Greg's book as well. I will get to it soon.

I'm so glad we are having this blog, which Keila came up with.

Cheers (Kanpai),
Yoshi

Man, I know what you mean about rewriting press releases. I've done that, too, and I put my name on them sometimes. When I do, I keep Sheri Venema in mind -- don't be a prima donna. It hurts, but all in a day's work, I guess. I drew the line when my editor (former editor) asked me to write a story about new trash cans coming downtown. We'd gotten a news release from the Business Improvement District, and I frankly thought he was joking. I said I'd do it if he could explain how it was newsworthy and the conversation ended there.
